Sketches from Old Sturbridge Village

Here are some pencil sketches that I did in 1987 at Old Sturbridge Village in Massachusetts, where they recreate the life of an American small town in the early 19th century.

Damon Cook, cooper

Notching an oak beam before hewing.

Hewing with a broadaxe

Some tools of the trade, all made on-site

John Eaton, tinner, making a betty lamp.
